The 8th Seal-Its Time is Now!
Author: Don Cerow
Publisher: Nicolas-Hays, Inc.
ISBN: 0892546395
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 384
Book Description
The book of Revelation encoded information and astrological data into a text whose mysterious symbols and dramatic storyline have fascinated and confused scholars and religious people for 2,000 years. This groundbreaking study demonstrates that the book of Revelation's ancient author(s) possessed extensive and sophisticated knowledge of the sky and the patterns therein that influenced the text's most dramatic prophesies, which were all based on observation of past events and calculations of future patterns. Don Cerow scientifically explains the astronomical facts of the vernal equinox and its changing relation to various stars and constellations. These various alignments and intersections herald great changes in the development of our planet. We learn how various historical events reflected certain astronomical alignments in the past and how we may anticipate the effects of such events in the future. The book includes numerous tables and black-and-white illustrations.

The Man in the Arena
Author: Eddie Gallagher
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781733428002
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages :
Book Description
On September 11, 2018, Navy SEAL Chief Edward Gallagher-a highly-decorated combat veteran with deployments to war zones in Cosovo, Africa, Afghanistan, and Iraq-was arrested for war crimes at the TBI medical clinic where he was receiving treatment. His incarceration was the culmination of a year-long whisper campaign started by a group of disgruntled underlings after a successful deployment decimating ISIS in Mosul, Iraq. After that deployment, Chief Gallagher was named the #1 Chief at SEAL Team 7, nominated for a Silver Star for valor on the battlefield, and listed for promotion. A few junior members of the platoon whom Chief Gallagher had called out for cowardice and ineptitude decided they couldn't let those things stand, and escalated minor leadership complaints into false accusations of stabbing a captured ISIS fighter and shooting noncombatants. Fighting against a corrupt investigation and a deceitful prosecutor who would be removed from the case for spying on defense attorneys, Chief Gallagher was found innocent on all major charges, and freed from prison. But only after he and his family were put through hell. President Trump had to intervene for Chief Gallagher to have access to his lawyers before trial, then restored his rank and insured his Trident pin was not taken after the acquittal. This tell-all exposes a military justice system designed to break and persecute our country's warfighters, told by a family who was targeted by it. While heavily covered in the media, the full story of how a war hero was railroaded and nearly sent to prison for life for crimes he didn't commit has never been told. Chief Gallagher did not testify at his trial and has spoken in little detail about how this travesty came about. Until now. A shocking, raw, exposé that pulls no punches and calls out each and every bad actor in this surreal story."People always tell me, if our life was a movie, no one would believe it." -Andrea Gallagher

Philosophy and Community in Seneca's Prose
Author: Carey Seal
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 0190493216
Category : Foreign Language Study
Languages : en
Pages : 229
Book Description
"Today philosophy's promises to enhance the lives of those who study it are couched, like justifications for the humanistic disciplines more generally, in circumspect terms. In the ancient world, however, philosophy commonly claimed for itself the status of an exclusive guide to happiness. Through philosophy's characteristic practices of argument and rational inquiry, its advocates believed, human beings could learn what was really good for themselves and free themselves from illusion. In the process, they would necessarily come to lead happier lives. This link between learning and action meant that philosophy was often regarded as an entire way of life, in which intellectual activity and practice were closely associated and mutually interdependent. Nowhere else in ancient literature is this ideal given such full and nuanced exposition as in the prose writings of Seneca, in which we can see a philosopher and literary artist of the first rank exploring in detail the dilemmas posed by the confrontation of the idea of the philosophical life with the historical and cultural specificity of the first-century CE Rome in which he wrote. His vast prose oeuvre defends, elaborates, and aims to make appealing this ideal of a life guided by disciplined thought. He is unequivocal about the necessary centrality of philosophy to any attempt at living a good life: philosophy, he writes, "shapes and forges the mind, it puts life in order, it directs actions, it points out what is to be done and what is not to be done, it sits at the helm and steers a course through the hazards of the waves" (animum format et fabricat, vitam disponit, actiones regit, agenda et omittenda demonstrat, sedet ad gubernaculum et per ancipitia fluctuantium derigit cursum, Ep. 16.3). A successful life, for Seneca as for many other ancient philosophers, is governed by, indeed constituted by, the practice of philosophy. His rich and varied corpus, I argue, presents us with a unique opportunity to learn how one reflective and well-informed ancient philosopher reconciled this ideal of philosophical living, and all the aspirations to independence and universality that come with it, to the fact that he and his readers were living in a sociopolitical setting with its own set of norms and customs. These customs, and the claims of community more generally, stand in potential contradiction with the practical guidance philosophy aims to supply. For Seneca, as we will see, this tension was a prodigiously fruitful one. Recent work has rehabilitated Seneca's standing as a major philosopher"--

The Trident
Author: Jason Redman
Publisher: Harper Collins
ISBN: 0062208330
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 337
Book Description
Navy SEAL and author of Overcome Jason Redman’s highly-charged account of his combat missions in Iraq and his miraculous recovery from wounds that might have killed him—if it were not for his grit and the devotion of his wife and family Decorated Navy SEAL Lieutenant Jason Redman served his country in Columbia, Peru, Afghanistan and Iraq, where he commanded mobility and assault forces. In western Iraq alone, he conducted over forty capture-kill missions with his men, successfully locating more than 120 Al Qaida insurgents. In September 2007, while leading a mission against a key senior Al Qaida commander, his team was ambushed and he was critically wounded by machine-gun fire at point blank range. During the intense recovery that followed—a years-long process that included 37 surgeries—Redman gained national media attention when he posted a sign on his door at Bethesda Naval Medical Center, warning all who entered not to “feel sorry for my wounds.” Redman’s sign became both a statement and a symbol for wounded warriors everywhere. The Trident is an unforgettable story of one man’s determination to overcome adversity. Redman recounts his story, from his grueling SEAL training to how he found the balance between arrogance and humility all while fighting America’s enemies on far flung battlefields. He speaks candidly of the grit that helped him carry on despite grievous wounds, and of the extraordinary love and devotion of his wife, Erica, and family, without whom he would not have survived. Vivid and powerful, emotionally resonant and illuminating, filled with sixteen pages of photos, The Trident traces the evolution of a modern warrior, husband, and father—a man who has come to embody the never-say-die spirit that defines America’s elite fighting force.
