Pages : 253

Book Description
The 3rd International Workshop on Software Engineering and Middleware {SEM 2002) was held May 20-21, 2002, in Orlando, Florida, as a co-located event of the 2002 International Conference on Software Engineering. The workshop attracted 30 participants from academic and industrial institutions in many countries. Twenty-seven papers were submitted, of which 15 were accepted to create a broad program covering the topics of architectures, specification, components and adaptations, technologies, and services. The focus of the workshop was on short presentations, with substantial dis cussions afterwards. Thus, we decided to include in this proceedings also a short summary of every technical session, which was written by some of the partici pants at the workshop. The workshop invited one keynote speaker, Bobby Jadhav of CalKey, who presented a talk on the design and use of model-driven architecture and middle ware in industry. We would like to thank all the people who helped organize and run the workshop. In particular, we would like to thank the program committee for their careful reviews of the submitted papers, Wolfgang Emmerich for being an excellent General Chair, and the participants for a lively and interesting workshop.

IBM MQ V8 Features and Enhancements

IBM MQ V8 Features and Enhancements PDF Author: Rufus Credle
Publisher: IBM Redbooks
ISBN: 0738439932
Category : Computers
Languages : en
Pages : 332

Book Description
The power of IBM® MQ is its flexibility combined with reliability, scalability, and security. This flexibility provides a large number of design and implementation choices. Making informed decisions from this range of choices can simplify the development of applications and the administration of an MQ messaging infrastructure. Applications that access such an infrastructure can be developed using a wide range of programming paradigms and languages. These applications can run within a substantial array of software and hardware environments. Customers can use IBM MQ to integrate and extend the capabilities of existing and varied infrastructures in the information technology (IT) system of a business. IBM MQ V8.0 was released in June 2014. Before that release, the product name was IBM WebSphere® MQ. This IBM Redbooks® publication covers the core enhancements made in IBM MQ V8 and the concepts that must be understood. A broad understanding of the product features is key to making informed design and implementation choices for both the infrastructure and the applications that access it. Details of new areas of function for IBM MQ are introduced throughout this book, such as the changes to security, publish/subscribe clusters, and IBM System z exploitation. This book is for individuals and organizations who make informed decisions about design and applications before implementing an IBM MQ infrastructure or begin development of an IBM MQ application.

Transactions on Pattern Languages of Programming I

Transactions on Pattern Languages of Programming I PDF Author: James Noble
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3642108318
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 240

Book Description
The Transactions on Pattern Languages of Programming subline aims to publish papers on patterns and pattern languages as applied to software design, development, and use, throughout all phases of the software life cycle, from requirements and design to implementation, maintenance and evolution. The primary focus of this LNCS Transactions subline is on patterns, pattern collections, and pattern languages themselves. The journal also includes reviews, survey articles, criticisms of patterns and pattern languages, as well as other research on patterns and pattern languages. This book, the first volume in the Transactions on Pattern Languages of Programming series, presents eight papers that have been through a careful peer review process involving both pattern experts and domain experts, by researchers and practitioners. The papers cover a wide range of topics, from the architectural design of large-scale systems down to very detailed design for microcontroller-based embedded systems. The first paper presents a substantial pattern language for constructing an important part of an integrated development environment. The following papers present patterns for batching requests in client-server systems; graceful degradation to handle errors and exceptions; and accurate timing delays. Two papers present related patterns that address aspects of service-oriented architectures, considering synchronization and workflow integration. Finally, the last two papers show how patterns can be combined into systems and then used to document those systems’ designs.
