Book Description
The true story of the lead pilot of the Pearl Harbor attack and his conversion to Christianity. “As I looked across at my companion, I marveled afresh at the goodness of God-this man was my enemy; now he is my brother! Such is the miracle of the grace of God.”—Rev. Elmer Sachs, Director of Sky Pilots International. These words were written of Mitsuo Fuchida, who led the first wave of the air attacks on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 as a Captain in the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. After the war, Fuchida was introduced to the gospel through the testimony of Jacob DeShazer. He began reading the Bible and eleven years after Pearl Harbor, he became a Christian. Fuchida spoke boldly of his conversion in his native Japan, and a few years later, he was recruited by Rev. Elmer Sachs to join Sky Pilots International. He came to the United States where he had the opportunity to share his story across the country. From Pearl Harbor to Calvary is the story of Mitsuo Fuchida’s conversion and ministry in his own words. Central to his narrative is the message that God works through even the most improbable of circumstances to further the gospel.

Book Description
A TRUE AND THRILLING STORY OF HOW THE PRACTICAL DEMONSTRATION OF THE LAW OF LOVE IS BRINGING INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING AND THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST TO JAPAN This is the amazing story of Sergeant Jacob De Shazer (1912-2008), who participated in the Doolittle Raid as a staff sergeant and, when released from 40 months in a Japanese prison, he announced to the world that he was going to return to Japan as a missionary...and he did! “Soon after Jacob De Shazer returned to Japan as a Christian missionary there was a great demand for a book concerning his conversion. In order to comply with that request and also to reach additional thousands with the Gospel message, Mr. De Shazer wrote and published in Japanese an account of his life. This autobiography [contains] much personal testimony, sincere exhortation, and Scripture exposition as well as his prison experiences. The author has spared no effort in gathering additional pertinent material from other sources [including] Army Personnel Records, Documents from the post-war Allied War Trials Court, news dispatches, war reports, [and] private correspondence with De Shazer’s comrades in prison.”—Charles Hoyt Watson

Book Description
The Videos "The Return of the Bombardier," & "DeShazer" & the book "DeShazer" all tell the story of Jacob DeShazer, one of the 80 original Doolittle Raiders, who, in 16 B25 bombers, bombed Japan on April 18, 1942. Captured & tortured, he spent 40 months as a prisoner of war, 36 months in solitary confinement. Five of the men were shot, one died of malnutrition & starvation, the remainder were pardoned by the emperor, but interned. During his solitary confinement he was given a Bible to read for three weeks. He read it through more than five times, & received Christ as his personal saviour. This brought such peace & joy that even the guards noticed the change. On August 20, 1945, the war ended. When asked by the media what his plans were DeShazer said he was coming back to Japan as a missionary. He returned to America, went to Seattle Pacific College, now University, married & went back to Japan as a missionary on December 28, 1948. Some 150,000 greeted him, & more than 30,000 made professions of faith. One of DeShazer's greatest converts was Captain Mitsuo Fuchida, leader of the Japanese squadron which bombed Pearl Harbor. The work of Jacob DeShazer goes on in the lives of thousands of converts who have seen the love of God in DeShazer's life & testimony. It continues to be told by DeShazer himself as he humbly seeks to tell men of the love of God. DeShazer & his wife live in Salem, Oregon.
