Book Description
Excess adrenaline is the underlying cause of many conditions often felt to be incurable. It is the major reason for insomnia, as well as anger issues including road rage. It is the cause of ADHD, anxiety issues, fibromyalgia, IBS, and a significant cause of weight gain (especially while people are sleeping). It is the most common cause of tinnitus, and even the only cause of bed-wetting in children. Excess adrenaline is associated with depression, diabetes, PTSD, and a major reason why people get involved with drugs and alcohol. This book explains why people release this fight-or-flight hormone even when they are not in danger. And, just as importantly, the book explains how to lower excess adrenaline levels naturally and quickly.

Adrenaline

Adrenaline PDF Author: Alfred Bennun
Publisher: Nova Science Publishers
ISBN: 9781633210844
Category : Adrenaline

Book Description
The book examines the noradrenaline-emotional psyches (brain-blood barrier) somatic-adrenaline axis. It conceptually updates research advances, diagnostic techniques and therapeutic methods. The authors enhance their discussions with clear illustrations and explicative texts written for researchers, professionals, educators and students alike, which favour its selection as an essential overview of recent medical and scientific advances, allowing the reader to have the satisfaction of finding first-rate accounts of important work. Comparative studies between immediately obtained adrenal vein samples (AVS) and 15 minutes thereafter show that the stress reactions induced by catheter manipulation had an effect on serum cortisol and aldosterone values. A transient increase in cortisol release from both adrenal glands occurs in the majority of the patients who undergo AVS. This stress reaction can influence the assessment of both the selectivity of the catheterisation during the sequential AVS technique and the lateralisation of aldosteronoma bearing gland. The separation of noradrenaline (NA) at brain and adrenaline at blood functions as a homeostatic lame axis by the blood-brain barrier blocking adrenaline feedback in hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HTPA). This leads to postulate an evolution adaptation for the brain dominance over body, which allows a psychoanalytic treatment to function to signal turn-off and return to circadian homeostasis. Decreased glucose could stress the HTPA axis and leads to decreasing metabolites and releasing Mg2+ for integration of the brain-tissue network. Mg2+ changes adenylyl cyclase (AC) from a Ca2+-AC complex to an Mg2+-AC form with responsiveness to NA for short-term memory. The cAMP generated has been postulated for consolidation of long-term memory.

“Imaginative and intuitive . . . [Josh] Conviser mines and mints a nonstop stream of visual images.”—Chris Carter, creator of The X-Files In the time it takes to read this sentence, Echelon will intercept more than 70,000 phone calls, e-mails, and faxes. Operated by the National Security Agency, Echelon is the most pervasive global eavesdropping network in history. Today, Echelon will capture three billion electronic communications. Imagine what it will do tomorrow. In the near future, war is unknown, conflict has vanished, and life is picture-perfect. Or so it seems. Once merely a surveillance net, Echelon has severed its ties with the United States to become the covert power shaping world affairs. It manipulates the data flow at will, snuffs out dissent, and controls information–and thus the world–with an iron fist. But after years of silent dominance, Echelon stands on the brink of collapse. Honed, armed, and bioengineered to the hilt, Ryan Laing, a veteran Echelon operator, is thrust into a dark conspiracy to overthrow Echelon and draw the world into new violence and chaos. With his handler, Sarah Peters, a neo-punk hacker out of Scotland, Laing embarks on a desperate race through the halls of power and across the globe–from the flooded beachfront of Venice, California, to a murderous jungle in Southeast Asia–to find out who in Echelon is playing God . . . and what greater hell will soon be unleashed.

Magnesium in the Central Nervous System

Magnesium in the Central Nervous System PDF Author: Robert Vink
Publisher: University of Adelaide Press
ISBN: 0987073052
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 354

Book Description
The brain is the most complex organ in our body. Indeed, it is perhaps the most complex structure we have ever encountered in nature. Both structurally and functionally, there are many peculiarities that differentiate the brain from all other organs. The brain is our connection to the world around us and by governing nervous system and higher function, any disturbance induces severe neurological and psychiatric disorders that can have a devastating effect on quality of life. Our understanding of the physiology and biochemistry of the brain has improved dramatically in the last two decades. In particular, the critical role of cations, including magnesium, has become evident, even if incompletely understood at a mechanistic level. The exact role and regulation of magnesium, in particular, remains elusive, largely because intracellular levels are so difficult to routinely quantify. Nonetheless, the importance of magnesium to normal central nervous system activity is self-evident given the complicated homeostatic mechanisms that maintain the concentration of this cation within strict limits essential for normal physiology and metabolism. There is also considerable accumulating evidence to suggest alterations to some brain functions in both normal and pathological conditions may be linked to alterations in local magnesium concentration. This book, containing chapters written by some of the foremost experts in the field of magnesium research, brings together the latest in experimental and clinical magnesium research as it relates to the central nervous system. It offers a complete and updated view of magnesiums involvement in central nervous system function and in so doing, brings together two main pillars of contemporary neuroscience research, namely providing an explanation for the molecular mechanisms involved in brain function, and emphasizing the connections between the molecular changes and behavior. It is the untiring efforts of those magnesium researchers who have dedicated their lives to unraveling the mysteries of magnesiums role in biological systems that has inspired the collation of this volume of work.
