Book Description
During the pandemic, Grayson Perry helped the nation find comfort and company through art during the hit TV series Grayson's Art Club by Swan Films for Channel 4. Each week Grayson hosted the show from his studio with his wife, Philippa (and often their cat, Kevin). Using video chat, Grayson spoke to famous artists and creatives about how they were spending their time and invited them to respond creatively to lockdown. Each week had a different theme - family, nature, food, dreams, work, and travel. Members of the public were also invited to share their own artworks and over 17,000 entries were submitted throughout series two in a vast range of mediums - from paintings and photography, to ceramics and textiles. Collectively, the artworks are powerful and very personal responses to the pandemic and form a lasting artistic record of the unprecedented times the nation experienced together. The artworks from season two are collected here to catalogue the exhibition at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery

Book Description
There are some artists for whom 'popular' is a bit of a dirty word. Grayson Perry is not one of them. He thinks art shouldn't be an exclusive club for people who 'get' it, but for everyone - that's why his new show is called The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever! This accompanying book contains all his latest works, in full colour - including his much-discussed 'Leave' and 'Remain' pots, and creations inspired by his recent TV series All Man - along with an introduction by Grayson, his sketches and his commentary on each piece, explaining the thinking behind them. The images and words here explore populism, celebrity, masculinity, identity, Britain today and Grayson himself. They invite us to look again at the things we think we know, and show us that nothing, not even Brexit, is black and white.

Book Description
A new examination of the early ceramic work of the world’s most famous potter, Grayson Perry, this book includes previously lost and unpublished pieces. Grayson Perry was the first ceramicist to win the Turner Prize, the internationally renowned award for the best young British Artist. He rapidly established a unique brand as “the transvestite potter.” This book examines the plates, pots, and statues from the 1980s to the mid-1990s with which he established his career. Perry sold many of his early pieces for modest sums and subsequently lost track of their whereabouts. With the help of an international art treasure hunt this book brings together both his known and previously lost and undocumented pieces. Accompanying Perry’s traveling exhibition, which opens at the Holburne Museum, Bath, in January 2020, this book features full color illustrations of his seminal ceramic works from this period. As well as an essay from the artist and critical essays from experts on Perry’s work.

Book Description
Telling a story of class and taste, aspiration and identity, tapestry series The Vanity of Small Differences saw Turner Prize-winning artist Grayson Perry travel the length and breadth of the UK, 'on safari amongst the taste tribes of Britain'. The result is a monumental exploration of the 'emotional investment we make in the things we choose to live with, wear, eat, read or drive.'The six vibrant and highly detailed tapestries presented here bear the influence both of early Renaissance painting and of William Hogarth's moralising series, literally weaving characters, incidents and objects from the artist's research into a modern-day version of A Rake's Progress (1733).Featuring essays by journalist Suzanne Moore (The Guardian, The Mail) and Grayson Perry, alongside extensive commentary on each of the tapestries and their making, this book is an essential companion to one of the key contemporary art works of the last decade.Published on the occasion of the Hayward Touring UK exhibition Grayson Perry: The Vanity of Small Differences, touring in 2013–14 to Sunderland Museum in the Wintergarden (27 June – 29 September 2013), Manchester Art Gallery (31 October 2013 – 31 January 2014), Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery (14 February – 11 May 2014), Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool (May – July 2014), Leeds Art Gallery (August – October 2014).

Book Description
All this Mayhem is a major exhibition of newly commissioned and recent work by internationally renowned, San Francisco-based artist Ben Venom that exemplifies his interest in the DIY aspect of heavy metal and punk rock culture combined with the tradition of quilting.Venom creates stunning, expansive patchwork quilts and clothing that often incorporate skulls, tigers and heavy metal lyrics, with his practice framed within wider counterculture contexts, and the legacy of post-war American art and craft.Venom's early influences come from the street - punk rock, heavy metal, and the skateboard community. At the heart of the artist's work is his use of re-purposed materials, such as fan donated band t-shirts, to create pieces contrasting the often menacing and iconic counterculture components of gangs, punk/metal music and the occult with the comforts of domesticity. The works intermingle fine art and craft, dispelling gender stereotypes of contemporary quilting practice and expressing a fresh and irreverent sense of masculinity.Featuring texts by Laura L. Camerlengo (Assistant Curator of Costume and Textiles Arts at de Young Museum, San Francisco), and Lindsay Bishop (photographer/filmmaker, and Social Anthropology researcher at UCL, London).Published on the occasion of the exhibition Ben Venom: All this Mayhem at mac Birmingham (22 June - 8 September 2019). This exhibition takes place during the city-wide Home of Metal festival in Birmingham, UK (summer 2019).
